"Still Motion Duo" is composed of cellist Clare Monfredo and pianist Ari Livne. The two of us met in college and have been playing together since 2017. Our interests as a duo include traditional classical repertoire, contemporary music, and creating our own original arrangements. We especially love finding points of connection among vastly different musical styles and devising unusual interpretations and arrangements of well-known works.

In this spirit, we will present an evening of music for cello and piano that travels from Ludwig van Beethoven in early 19th century Vienna to Carlos Simon in the US in 2015 and back to Sergei Prokofiev in post-WWII Russia. All the pieces on this program feature unique combinations of beauty and play, mixing lyricism with a tongue-in-cheek, raucous quality.
