Please join us as Montauk Club member Bob Harned reads excerpts of his new book: Edithe Beutler: Beautifying Hawaii with Color.

Bob Harned, a Montauk Club member, has written several books about his fascinating family – his mother was a silent movie actress and Broadway ingénue. His latest is about his grandmother – “Edithe Beutler: Beautifying Hawaii with Color.”  She was, in the time before color photography, the leading colorist of black and white photographs, first working for Hollywood movie studios, then for the U.S. government, then with several Kodak “Color Art” photo shops in touristic Honolulu. The coffee table-sized book is a testament to her work and intriguing life, with full-color photographs, many of which have become collectible and are sold on eBay.
