Hi all,
I’ve been out of town a bit since the last wine class when we tasted a pinot noir, a cabernet sauvignon/merlot blend and a nebbiolo d’Alba with and without an aerating device. I’ll get the tasting notes for that up soon.
But more importantly, I want you all to know that we will be having our April wine class tomorrow, April 15 at 7 p.m., tax day be damned. We thought it would be fun to review an old tasting of oakiness and tannins. To test our sense of oakiness we’ll compare a 2008 Pouilly-Fuisse Petite Chapelle from Burgundy with a 2008 Clos du Bois Chardonnay from the North Coast of California. For tannins we’ll compare a 2007 Ramsay North Coast Pinot Noir from California with a 2003 Benziger Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. So there will be something for both the white and red afficionados.
Hope to see you all tomorrow evening.
