Tennis Anyone?
Members of The Montauk Club enjoy reciprocal membership with The Knickerbocker Field Club. The “Knick” is a private tennis club in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. Founded in 1889, the Knickerbocker is the oldest tennis club in Brooklyn. While the golf course is long gone, as is the huge old clubhouse and its bowling alleys (arson in the late-1980s) — there are still five clay courts wedged in between the outdoor Q-line subway tracks and a wall of apartment houses. Why wait at the public courts when you can skip to the front of the line at this secluded urban oasis? Call ahead to book your court time for a reciprocal member fee of $15.
